Only for Prime members, Amazon's big day of discounts will begin monday, extending for 36 hours. This year the event is running longer than prior years and will be available for shoppers in more countries. Amazon is promising more than a million deals — the most yet.
Some of the best deals this year include The Echo Show for $130 ($100 off the regular price), three months of Kindle Unlimited for $1 (Normally $10 a month), free PC games from Twitch and four months of Amazon Music for $1 (The standard rate is $7.99 monthly).
Whole Foods is the biggest change in the 2018 Prime Day.
Amazon is offering Prime members a $10 credit when they spend $10 or more at Whole Foods between July 11 through 17. Whole Foods is also offering deals on many grocery items and doubling the cash back bonus to 10% from 5% for Amazon Prime Rewards Visa card holders.
How many Prime members does Amazon have?
The annual membership fee for Amazon Prime is $99 the service has added around 10 million new subscribers a year for the past three years. According to market research firm Consumer Intelligence Research Partners, members spend $1,400 a year, compared to $600 a year from non-members.
Amazon has always kept quiet about how many users its Prime service has until April this year when in a letter to shareholders, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said that 13 years after launching the service, Prime now has more than 100 million members globally.
